A Parenting Resource Guide

Sometimes I come across really great information that doesn’t exactly fit into our article or events category but which I think should be shared with our MacKid families. Jose Milton Recording Studio @MAS

The Jose Milton Foundation Recording Studio @ Miami Arts Studio is now open to any school-aged child residing in Miami-Dade County.

Any school-aged child residing in Miami-Dade County may record one track at no cost.

Interested students are asked to submit a YouTube video link on the application found using the email below.

The recording studio is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3-6:30 p.m.


MDPLS FREE Homework Help & Tutoring Program

Certified teachers meet with small groups of students in one-hour sessions to provide homework help and tutoring in reading, math and science. 

Students are encouraged to bring homework material or school assignments for assistance in specific subject areas. This free service is available to all students in grades K-12.

The Children's Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami Dade County

 FREE Tax Preparation at Miami Dade college Through April 13, 2020

Miami Dade College (MDC) will once again provide free tax preparation services to low-income individuals, the elderly and non-English speaking residents throughout Miami-Dade County as part of the Internal Revenue’sVolunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). 

Services will be provided from Feb. 4– April 13, 2020, at various MDC campuses.

Requirements to have taxes prepared through the VITA program: Bring a social security card and social security cards of any dependents to be claimed; Photo ID; W-2 earnings statement; 1099 MISC (for self-employed only); 1099 INT (interest income); and any documents pertaining to expenses to be claimed.
